Case Study: Stock Water Reticulation at Mt White Station

Who:  Mt White Station

Where: Upper Waimakariri Basin, near Arthur’s Pass.

Products: 15 x 30000L Xpress Water Tanks

Why: When a Canterbury high country station covers 40000 hectares, ensuring a durable and reliable water supply is a huge challenge. Mt White Station required a dependable water supply to gravity feed to their stock water troughs. Stock health was obviously the top priority but complying with the latest clean waterways regulations was also important. There were logistical considerations too. Transporting and setting up heavy concrete tanks in such a rugged location was expensive and just not practical. So, the owners of Mt White reached out to Promax. Here’s what we did.

What: After consulting with the owners of Mt White Station, we recommended our XPRESS Water Tanks made from high grade polyethylene plastic. Compared to concrete tanks, XPRESS Water Tanks are a lightweight option which made transportation to this rugged and hilly location so much easier. The one-piece construction reduces maintenance and costs, and with the tanks coming with our 20-year industry warranty we were able to provide an affordable and hassle-free water storage solution in this high country setting. Promax worked with Farmlands and Boyes Contracting to supply 15 x 30,000 litre tanks to the scheme at Mt White, and today this iconic station can look after their stock with clean water, while complying with those all-important clean waterways regulations.
