How To Install Your Water Tank

Previous Next

Water tanks as good as ours deserve the highest standards of installation.

With this in mind, we suggest that you click here to see our Recommended Installer Network throughout New Zealand. We've worked closely with these registered plumbers or drainlayers over the years, and we trust them to do a great job. These independent contractors do not work for Promax; however, we have no hesitation endorsing them.

Of course, there's nothing to stop you from installing your water tank yourself by following some fundamental steps. To help you, check out the video below, which covers these steps one by one. In the meantime, here are a few crucial things to keep in mind:

Our big tanks (10,000 to 30,000 litres) are delivered free on truck and trailer units. The truck is 21 metres long, 5 metres high, and 3.5 metres wide, so it's essential to provide adequate clearance during the delivery. For example, please check gates, roads, roundabouts, crossings and overhanging trees on your property, so we can safely deliver your Promax water tank without damage.

If you don't intend to install your tank straight away, we recommend you secure it by tying it down or putting filling your tank at least to 10% of it's total capacity.

We've shown the rest of the installation process in the instructional video below . Take a look at all of the steps to help you decide if you are confident  you are able to install the tank yourself. We should note that the video deals with aboveground tanks. Underground tanks present additional challenges and requirements. We invite you to read through the underground installation documentation, or get in touch with Promax to discuss the installation of our underground products.

We've designed and manufactured your new Promax water tank to the most exacting standards. It will provide you with the most secure and durable water storage in New Zealand when installed correctly. But are you confident you can do it yourself? Or would you be better off contacting one of our recommended installers? Contact us for further information and advice to help you make the right decision.
